Edifer WiFi Stereo Wireless Speakers with Tidal Connect
If you consider yourself an Audiophile, and in the market for a pair of small wireless speakers, drop 2 Edifer MS50A’s in your shopping cart and enjoy.Let me repeat two words … Tidal Connect!Perform a 5 minute “Stereo WiFi” setup with the Edifer app, open Tidal Music, select MS50A… press play.Thats it folks, no drama, no jumping through hoops, no enlisting your kids for help.Seriously I’ve been looking for true wireless speakers my entire life, “Stereo” wireless speakers are ultra rare, go ahead and search. The problem is getting the left/right speakers to start at the same nano-second without wires, get this timing wrong and you get mid-fi sound. (The big 3 have plenty of these toy cloth lined speakers for sale on this website.) If you dig dig deep you can find a handful of other more expensive options but they all have their drawbacks, besides the cost. Even Edifer offer’s only 1 additional wireless set, the S1000W’s, but alas you need to hook wires to the passive speaker. La de da ditty da.While the MS50A’s now live on my office desk as Nearfield Monitors, I tested them in my main 30X40′ listening space. They create a huge stereo soundstage that dances and flows like real Hifi, even moving a little air, I measured -9db at 50hz. Outstanding! Not found in any other review, I discovered these speakers now show up inside the WiiM app, this brings an entire palate of musical choices. (See WiiM for all the playback options.) Wait it gets better, I unplugged my WiiM Pro and the MS50’s continue to play. This means the MS50’s are supported natively, no need for a WiiM device in your house. Like a poor mans Roon Remote, the free WiiM app gives you total control from any device in your house, including MacOS. You can even group WiiM’s and MS50’s together for a whole house party mode. Within the WiiM app you can touch the speaker icon and make it L, R or LR stereo. This allows you to separate them and place one on the front porch and one in the garage. I take mine out on the lanai when I BBQ, or drag one down to the gazebo. In LR mode you can even select entirely different music for that zone and control the volume … and the hits just keep on coming with WiiM!The Edifer’s are not Roon Ready but they do show up as Airplay devices on Roon. No Chromecast as yet, but they do offer full Amazon functionality. For high quality music streaming you have Qobuz/Tidal/Amazon Unlimited via the WiiM app. While Tidal Connect unfolds MQA(MAX) it tops out at 48/16 (High) when steaming HiRes Flac for now. No matter, all sound outstanding to me.Honestly I don’t think there’s any other WiFi Stereo speakers on the planet with this much flexibility, functionality, and stereo sound quality.Definitely not at this price!

    Drops Connection
The sound is good, but over time the connection has become so unreliable as to be useless. At this point it can manage about 20 seconds before it loses connection.

Speaker work fine for use with Bluetooth and Spotify
I have owned this speaker for about a year now. The sound quality is good, but I feel it could be better. I am not sure; I do have this in a kitchen, so the space is not the best acoustically. Something just seems slightly unbalanced about the sound you sit it on a surface. The speaker just needs a small stand. Sounds great elevated just a few inches.I have not had issues with a connection like others have described. But I set mine up months ago. So the app could have changed. I did have to reconnect it about two months ago. Still no major issues with reconnecting it. It connects to my Spotify app perfectly, and there are no issues with Bluetooth; it works great. I also have connected this and my Apple TV to my Spotify app at the same time to have music throughout the house. It’s a little fickle, but it works (I think it’s more the app than the unit).I am also considering ordering another unit for my dining room. So, I do feel like it is a good product. It’s not perfect, but you are getting a lot of tech for the money.

Very impressive, no-frills connected speaker. Too bassy? Put a sock in it!
I am overall impressed with the construction, ergonomics, appearance, and price point when on sale ($80 on Black Friday 2023) of this speaker. I bought it because I was looking for a bathroom speaker for music, podcasts, and news when showering, and it fits well on my toilet reservoir cover. You can use the foam from the packaging to make a nice isolating pad. The lack of an internal battery is a bonus for me — a speaker this large would require a big, heavy lithium ion battery to power, adding to cost. This speaker easily gets loud, and I usually run it at <50% of peak volume to stay safely under 80 dBA. The frequency response curve is a bit on the bassy side, which tends to drown out spoken word, especially when passing through a glass shower door. However you can remove the speaker cover to expose the front bass port and stuff a small piece of cloth or foam into the front, which nicely tames the bass. If this speaker had an equalizer built in, it would be perfect.I like that you can set it up as a Spotify connected device (or Amazon Music, whatever) or use Bluetooth. The Edifier Home app worked well for setup and was promptly deleted without issue. I didn't have to sign into any other service or create an account to do this. The lack of a microphone is very considerate and helps me trust the product, as I value my privacy. It sounds good enough, and it's many times cheaper than Sonos, who have burned me with anti-consumer software-based planned obsolescence and privacy violating end user license agreements. For me, it's a hit.

Edifier App is garbage! Start with iPhone app! I had to try 3 different devices to setup.
Edifier App is garbage! I had to try 3 different devices to setup. (iPhone app finally worked) I attempted to setup with andriod / google play and also directly connecting to device via it’s wifi / bluetooth. The app will let you connect via wifi but then does not allow you to change wifi settings or manually input wifi information. There is not a way to just type in wifi. You have to have the app downloaded and have your device on the correct wifi network. Then, if it finds the device the andriod / google play apps ask you to confirm the wifi settings (which you cannot change anyways) but then the “submit” or next button to actually confirm was not clickable. So I was unable to set this up for several days. I eventually tried on an iPhone and the apple app had the submit button. If I started with an apple iPhone, it probably would have taken 2 minutes to setup.Actual sound and connection once setup seems to be pretty good. So I rate 3 stars overall.

Impresionante. Los bajos son impresionantes. Edifier es garantía. Tuve la oportunidad de aquirirlo con un descuento mayor al 30%…si se vincula con dispositivo Alexa. Tiene su propia aplicación , de inmediato reconoce al disposito Alexa.

I was looking for a speaker that I could easily control from my phone. After researching several different brands and trying out a few, this Edifier speaker sealed the deal.It comes with WiFi connectivity and Bluetooth. It turns on automatically once powered up. And connects to your wifi or Bluetooth automatically. You can control the speaker directly from the Edifier home app.The sound quality is amazing for a small size speaker. I’m no audiophile but to me it sounds great.Overall I’m very happy with this speaker. Highly recommended. 5/5!
